For everyone who knows me, I love Christmas. If I had it my way, I would have started decorating for Christmas on November 1st. My enthusiasm for Christmas closely resembles Clark Griswold’s… you get the picture. With the hustle and bustle of Christmas behind us, I figured there’s no better time to start up this blog. So alas, here is a little glimpse into our first Christmas at the house. FYI our house still looks exactly like this (I can’t bear to take down the tree, even though it’s been dead for weeks now). I kept the decor very simple. I went with a black, white, gold & green colour scheme… sorry red lovers.
I incorporated a faux fur on my accent chair to add warmth and texture, which I’ll probably leave on for the rest of the winter. I also added green velvet pillows to the living room and yes I seasonally change my throw pillows, no shame here.
Last but not least, I bought the most gorgeous stockings from Minted. Maybe one year I’ll have a mantle to hang them from or at least some stocking hooks.
How did you decorate for the holidays this year? Did you opt for a neutral palette or are you a traditional red and green person? Cheers!
